Corral del Rey - Seville

In the centre of Seville, nestled in a narrow cobbled stone street of the old quarter of Barrio Alfalfa, the Corral Del Rey is hidden behind enormous ancient doors and inside, is a little oasis of traditional Spanish luxury. This original 17th Century Casa Palacio has been meticulously restored and converted into a small private luxury boutique hotel.

The hotel spread over two buildings, one side contains the grand suites and the other houses larger family-style apartments. Both are draped in classic finishing’s; roman marble columns, hardwood floors, opulent wooden furniture, vintage steel railings and floor to ceiling windows.

Upon our arrival, we were greeted by a friendly host who welcomed us into the quaint dining room (no more than five or six small tables) and delivered us a hot basket of baked pastries followed by endless tea, coffee, juice and fruit. The reception staff remained available to us (and guests) all day until 12:00AM and were eager to help us plan anything from reservations to car hire to flamenco recommendations. The personalised concierge service offered by the hotel was an extremely refreshing experience.

Shortly after, we were introduced to our new home for the next few days, the Corral Del Rey Deluxe SuiteIt was clear that interior designer Kuky Mora-Figueroa had stamped her individual style here, tastefully combining a mix of ancient and modern aspects into each room. I was immediately drawn to the bathroom, it is absolutely breathtaking, and it’s palatial in size. It contained an impressive marble bathtub, a limestone walk-in rain shower and custom made bathrobes all adding to the luxury of Corral Del Rey.

A personal favourite of mine was the rooftop terrace, with plunge pool and the extended mirador where one could relax with a glass of wine and some tapas whilst enjoying the spectacular views of the Cathedral and Giralda tower.

After a day in the sun, guests can also enjoy the downstairs bar and cafe which serves an all-day tapas menu paired with an extensive selection of Spanish wines.  If that's not enough, then the vaulted lower ground cellars also provide an additional chill-out space.

Corral Del Rey offers stylish accommodation in a relaxed and intimate atmosphere. It's evident that every single detail has been thought of to ensure the highest quality of service and standards are provided to guests at this magnificent hotel.
