The Grand Hotel La Favorita is a five star boutique hotel oozing classic Italian charm at every turn. Although the hotel only opened its doors in 2010, it has successfully captured the traditional essence of Italian glamour and already won over the hearts of many travellers alike.
The hotel is located in a quaint street in the heart of the Sorrento historic town centre. While offering guests a quiet retreat from the bustling streets it is still only 100m from the sea and literally a few steps away from the local restaurants, bars and shops.
We were fortunate enough to stay in the Superior double room, which was surprisingly spacious and filled with elegant dark wooden décor, draped in royal blue tapestry and lined with crystal white tiles. It was the picture of quintessential Italian style.
My personal favourite was the large private balcony that filled the room with airy light and fresh afternoon breezes. From here we could see the entire historic town and enjoy the relaxing trickling of the water foundation below us in the lemon grove garden. After dark, I took advantage of the enormous marble bathtub (and luxurious skincare products) for an undisturbed moment of relaxation.
Although, a stay at La Favorita is not complete without the extravagance of late-night-poolside-cocktail and live music performances of the rooftop terrace overlooking the stunning bay of Naples. It's the perfect way to wind down after a long day of sight-seeing.
To top it all off, after the beloved holiday-sleep-in (thanks to the fabulous blackout roller blinds) guests are then treated to an extensive European style buffet breakfast which includes everything from eggs (any way you like) to cured meats to full-blown patisserie style sweet treats.
For those seeking an authentic Italian experience, the Grand Hotel La Favorita offers a great combination of luxury, charm and comfort. Guests can relish in the opulent surroundings, lush gardens, striking views and unbeatable grandeur.
